Garcia's Restaurant (Lincoln Square)

I've had good and bad experiences, but the good make up for the bad. Ceviche is fire here!

Went in on Saturday evening and sat in the bar area and was served right away. Hadn't been to Garcia's for a few years and was pleasantly surprised that the quality and portions were as I remembered before the remodeling. The service was great had a great waitress and the hostess at the door was very nice and friendly. Had a combination plate and had enough for a doggie bag. Had a nice tequila cocktail that was perfectly made. Would highly recommend!

Food was good and reasonably-priced. Server was polite, and we were seated quickly. The only thing was from order to food delivery was at least 25 minutes. But I’d definitely go back.

Two stars is about right for this neighborhood hangout. Somehow we paid $15 for ordinary margaritas, $11 for guacamole scooped out of some giant can with stale chips and more for veggie tacos with frozen Green Giant broccoli. The service was good and ambiance was upbeat but since the best part about the meal was the rice and beans (also likely scooped out of a Sysco truck) we will save our money - and stomachs - and go to Taco Bell next time.

Garcia's is a family friendly Mexican restaurant and bar, with delicious margaritas and Mexican food staples. There's nothing overly fancy about the place, the prices are reasonable, the service is friendly, and the food is good. They also offer food to go and counter ordering near the Western Ave entrance.
