Edgewater Beach Cafe - Chicago
Housed inside the 1920s Edgewater Beach Apartments, this intimate, family-owned restaurant is one of the North Side's hidden gems. The dining room is quiet and classic and the food is classic.

Never a disappointment here. Good food and service. Nice brunch and a small but well-chosen dinner menu. A little old- fashioned but in a good way.
This is the place my parents would have gone for French food, if my parents went out for French food. Though there's word of a recent removdel, the remodel...
This is the most underrated place! The food is done perfectly, the chef is French trained I have been told, this is the 3rd time I have eaten here and...
This is a refined dining experience. The atmosphere is calm and reserved. Table linens, full silverware settings and Riedel wine glasses are the standard here. Their menu leans towards French cuisine. Butter, cream and love were found in every dish we tried. The service was wonderful. I recommend this place for a calm, adult dinner out.
It just stupfies me why this restaurant is not the most crowded place in Edgewater. The Edgewater Beach Cafe is the absolute best in the neighborhood! Tried every other restaurant and there's no comparison! From the escargot to the shrimp with burgundy sauce to the raspberry chicken, it's all delicious. It's essentially a French restaurant minus the cost and pretentious attitude. The owner is Vietnamese and his wife trained in Paris is the chef. Couldn't ask for more!
