Horrible. Just horrible. I ordered 3 rolls paid 45 dollars and the rolls were so small. As small as a finger. One of the rolls was 18 dollars and they all...
Came here after looking up nearby hibachi spots after the place we went to was all booked up. Took my chances as it was my 5yo's first time at hibachi....
We had a reservation for 4:45pm, and we arrived at 4:30. At 4:40pm we were sat at our table, a pair of women were sat with us shortly after. The waitress was efficient in getting us drinks and taking our order. The chef did not come to our table to prepare our meal until 5:40pm (we were the first table after opening by the way). My husband’s food was coated in “egg yolk,” more commonly known as canned nacho cheese. The manager was very argumentative when we requested she take the plate away and remove it from our bill. After 20 minutes of going back and forth the manager did remove the untouched, inedible food from our bill. Highlights: -Shrimp was both raw and burnt -Our table mate had a giant chip in her bowl (the plastic was later found in our food) -Egg shell in the rice -Other tables being served well before us BY THE WAY: this place illegally adds gratuity to all bills without prior notice.
I am in my 70s and have been going to Japanese restaurants all over the country. This was the worst I ever experienced. How embarrassing that I treated family to a holiday dinner. The server was VERY rude and the Chef didn’t utter a word and there was no “show”; he barely went through the motions to prepare the meal. Very substandard for a Japanese hibachi restaurant. The chef dropped a bowl of rice and left it all over the griddle and the table, not attempting to clean it up or have someone clean it, so we could eat at a clean table. He did a very poor job cleaning the griddle. And be aware that for three of us, an 18% tip was added automatically. Don’t tip again! Read your check before paying it. Then if this all wasn’t bad enough, all three of us got food poisoning! We were sick within an hour of eating. We think it was the chicken or egg in the fried rice, which didn’t taste good. It tasted sweet. I have never had a chef add meat to a fried rice on a hibachi grill! Tow of us only ate a few bites because we didn’t like it, and we are huge fried rice lovers. This may be why the Glendale Heights and Wheaton locations closed. We went at 6pm on Saturday night and there were very few people there, even when we left at 7:30. I’m guessing the locals don’t go there anymore. I have been at all three locations previously, and I drove one hour and ten minutes to get there. Never again. Prices are up (soda is $4!). So not worth it!!! I would never frequent this restaurant again due to higher prices and rude staff!
If you are looking for a reverse hibachi restaurant this is the place. They are straight to the point. No yum yum sauce or the other sauce either. Our...
