Best's Kosher Foods Outlet Store - Chicago
Best's Kosher Sausage Company opened in Chicago in 1925, founded by Harry and Phillip Oscherwitz, the two youngest sons of Isaac Oscherwitz, a Cincinnati butcher. Today, Best's Kosher is part of Downers Grove-based Sara Lee Corp., but still manufactures its widely available kosher hot dogs, salamis and other deli meats at its Chicago plant.
This factory-outlet store sells the company's franks, sausages, corned beef, pastrami and salami at discount prices, and also makes carryout hot dogs and sandwiches to order. The store is open Sundays through Fridays, with early closing on Friday afternoons.
