Aurelio's Pizza of Homewood

This is the 3rd time i ordered carryout and asked for my pizza to be well done and crispy. IT WASN'T, I WAITED 10 MINUTES MORE. I ASKED FOR A MANAGER AND THE GIRL IN CARRYOUT SAID HE WAS TOO BUSY BUT THEY'LL PUT A NOTE SO NEXT TIME THEY'LL CHECK TO MAKE SURE IT'S DONE RIGHT. Sounds like the cooks making the pizza now don't READ English and mgmt. doesn't care. After over 50 years of getting pizza here, I'm going elsewhere it's its not done right next time.

I ordered to go but upon entering the building, I noticed nice, classic pizza joint ambience. The pizza is kind of pricey for a family size, The carryout entrance was a little difficult to find at night and being a first timer. I parked at the first parking lot I saw and had a bit of a walk to get to the entrance. The staff was friendly and helpful, they even offered to carry my food to the car since I had a sleeping toddler in my arms. The pizza.... let me first say I'm not a "Chicago style" pizza fan. I ordered thick crust and boy was it thick.. southern style biscuit thick, which took away from the toppings and sauce, I barely tasted them, but seemed flavorful, would've been better on a thin crust. The cheesesticks and fried mushrooms.. *chefs kiss*, they were delicious!! Would visit again and give the thin crust a try.

Great little spaces and rooms to eat your pizza, which was the best I've ever had at any other Aurelios. The pizza is top 5 of any place in my opinion. I love the way they serve it on a big tray to keep the crust crispy. An original gem away from the hustle and bustle of the big city.

Getting here earlier in the evening is an advantage if you don't want to wait for a table. There are tables on the main floor but there are also tables available on upper levels which will give you the feeling of being in a small Italian restaurant. Booths are big and benches are wooden. They are designed so you feel separated from the table next to you. Our service was great. Alyssa had excellent timing when checking on our need for refills or boxes for our take home. We ate the stuffed pizza. It was delicious!! The crust was softer than other stuffed pizza I have eaten. I was grateful we ordered the large so we could take it home! We also had a salad while waiting for our pizza. Our waitress split it for us so we were not fumbling at the table. The dressing was served on the side and was a generous portion. If you are looking for a relaxing atmosphere, good food and great service, this place is worth the wait!

No.1 - I Love Aurelio's Pizza ♥️ !!! They may be a little pricey - but in taste - They More Than Deliver. They've been my go to for almost every Superbowl for years. For me , Absolutely The BEST in the area. Efficient • Professional • Welcoming • Ample parking • Dine in and Carry out.
