Apolonia

Apolonia - Chicago

Focusing on coastal Mediterranean cuisine, with an emphasis upon the Italian culinary tradition, Apolonia brings a fresh taste of the highest quality ingredients combined in ways that will blow your mind. Offering brunch, lunch and dinner, Apolonia offers an innovative take on familiar dishes.

Apolonia is striving to present you with dishes you may have had before but never in quite this way. Case in point: caponata is a traditional Sicilian dish of tomatoes and other grilled vegetables; Apolonia Cauliflower Caponata focuses on this one cruciferous vegetable and serves it with golden raisins and caper sofrito. You'll also want to try the Warm Calamari Salad with avocado, citrus and arugula.

You can start your meal with some of the house made pastas, including Scallop Tagliatelle with a novel piquillo sauce and shellfish butter, or the Boursin Ravioli with sweet pea ‘veloute’ and parmesan.

The "From the Fire" side of the menu features meatier dishes like the Grilled Organic Chicken with salsa verde, charred lemon and couscous, as well as the Berkshire Pork Confit in amatriciana sauce with Swiss chard and cippolini.

To go with such fine food, you will want a good wine, and Apolonia has many by the glass.
