Christmas Manhattan
The Gage's Thomas Mooneyham puts a little holiday cheer in the classic Manhattan with house-made "Christmas syrup." You're certain to have a holly, jolly Christmas after a few of these!
Ingredients
- 2 ounces Buffalo Trace bourbon
- .75 ounces Carpano Antica sweet Vermouth
- .75 ounces house-made Christmas syrup*
- 3 dashes of angostura bitters
*Recipe for Christmas syrup
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 cups water
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 5 cloves
- 10 cherries (chopped)
- 2 cardamom pods
- 1 tsp grated ginger
Directions
Combine all ingredients and stir for 10-15 seconds. Next, strain into chilled martini glass and garnish with brandied cherries or orange twist. The Christmas Manhattan was created by The Gage mixologist Thomas Mooneyham.
