Whirlaway

The Whirlaway lounge has been providing Logan Square with a comfortable and social drinking establishment for over 27 years. Purchased by the Jaimes family in 1980, the Whirlaway has been family owned and run ever since. Rumor has it that the original owner placed a bet on a horse that was not favored to win. This horse would later become a triple crown winner. With his earnings the bar was built and named after the horse; Whirlaway.

La Boulangerie

This Logan Square cafe aims to be a traditional 19th-century French bakery. Look for freshly baked baguettes, croissants, country-style loaves, French pastries and sweet and savory crepes.

Hopewell Brewing Company

Unpretentious, fresh, good beer is the bill of fare at Hopewell Brewing Company, a newcomer to Logan Square's booming brewery scene. Owned by three longtime friends (two of them now married), Hopewell is already making a name for itself with its polished and sunny space and it's impeccable roster of ever-changing seasonal brews.

Intelligentsia Coffee & Tea - Logan Square

Intelligentsia, one of Chicago's original and most esteemed local coffee roasters, opened this spiffy new location in Logan Square in Spring 2013. The shop is small and incredibly sleek, decorated almost entirely in white, with a map of Chicago on the back wall and an artsy magazine rack on another. The focal point of the cafe is the central coffee bar, where baristas work their magic on pourover coffee and serve up pastries from Floriole Cafe & Bakery. Along with numerous bar stools, the cafe sports a few booths by the front windows.

Saba Italian Bar + Kitchen

Modern Italian cuisine & cocktails are dished out in a stylish setting with ample living greenery.

Ground Control

A husband-and-wife team is behind this Logan Square venture featuring vegetarian fare. Look for items like a wilted Swiss chard salad, seitan jibarito, scratch tortillas and pastas, and tofu battered with mustard and pale ale.
