Tack Room

Drawing inspiration from the 1890’s, when every local Czech tavern owner had a carriage house, John Dusek had one of his own at Thalia Hall.

Pl-zen

Former Kuma's Corner chef Albert Benitez is behind the menu at this offbeat American eatery in Pilsen. Burgers, of course, are one of the highlights with such offerings as an eight-ounce, grass-fed beef burger with grilled pineapple; lamb with mint and fresh oregano; and crab with sweet corn citrus relish.

Vintage Lounge

During the week, this Little Italy lounge serves specialty burgers, salads, sliders, sandwiches, pizzas and small plates. On the weekends, it become a dance party with DJs and bottle service.

The Duck Inn

Former Four Seasons Chicago Executive Chef Kevin Hickey left his post of almost 20 years to join forces with Rockit Ranch Productions (Rockit Bar & Grill, Sunda, Underground) to open two chef-focused projects. Bottlefork is his effort in River North, and The Duck Inn is Hickey's tribute to his old stomping grounds of Bridgeport.

Stax Cafe

This restaurant's name refers to the 10 types of pancake "stax" they serve, with flavors like pineapple upside down, white chocolate raspberry and ricotta with strawberry rhubarb. Other breakfast fare includes blue corn and bacon waffles, egg and cheese sliders, and hot ham and cheese crepes. Stax also serves sandwiches like egg BLTs and falafel sliders.

La Catrina

La Catrina Cafe is located in the Pilsen neighborhood of Chicago. A "mom-and-pop shop" founded in the spring of 2013, La Catrina Cafe has quickly established a presence in Pilsen.
