When you’re slurping noodles, do you find yourself thinking, “Gee, I wish I knew how to make this”? If you answered yes, then Imperial Lamian has the perfect solution! The River North restaurant is hosting a noodle class on May 22, wherein head chef Wang Hong Jun teaches noodle-lovers how to make their very own lamian bowls, from hand-pulling the dough to forming the best dish. The class starts at 6:00 p.m. with a hands-on demo, with attendees kneading and rolling and pulling the lamian noodles, before dropping them in water to boil and cook. Then it’s chopstick time! Burger Month Specials at Joy District

Now that we’re in the thick of National Burger Month, it would behoove you to partake in some beefy specials taking place around town. The best of the bunch can be had at Joy District’s Parlay space, which is running a Burger Month promo all month long. The special is a Parlay “Mac Daddy” burger paired with Three Floyds Gumballhead beer for $18. The burger consists of a dry-aged double beef patty with American cheddar, pickle, lettuce, tomato, relish aïoli and sesame seed bun. For those looking for some variety, the restaurant has you covered with other burgers like a chicken burger topped with Dijon aïoli, Swiss cheese and red onions, a mini burger slider double stack with truffle aïoli and a traditional rendition with pickles, lettuce and tomato.

Homestead on the Roof Reopens for the Season

A surefire harbinger of warmer weather to come, Homestead on the Roof has reopened for the season. Nestled on top of Roots Handmade Pizza, the seasonal restaurant, renowned for its fruitful gardens, is the quintessential al fresco experience in Chicago, with 85 seats outside. This year, chef Scott Shulman’s locally inspired menu is filled with novel creations like the “Caprazy,” a tomato sushi dish with chrysanthemum pesto, blistered tomato salad and Genovese basil; salmon semi crudo with pink peppercorns, kumquats and sesame cracker; and a combo dish of pork chops and pie, which features a 14-oz. pork chop with a slice of savory rhubarb pie with pork rind streusel. 

Three Dots and a Dash Distribute Mugs Nationwide

One of the best tiki bars in the country can now be shipped directly to your door, anywhere in the nation. OK, so technically you can’t order cocktails from Three Dots and a Dash, but you can at least order their illustrious, famous mugs, which make great collectibles or gifts. These include the limited-edition signature mugs and three new mugs: a pink sea urchin mug, the skull wall mug and the purple Fijian mermaid. Each is hand-painted and made custom for the tiki bar, stamped with the Three Dots logo. Mugs are $75 each and can be ordered here
