Weekly Planner: New Lunch at The Winchester, Tea at Brindille, Parson's Brunch and More
Lunch (and Burger Nights!) at The Winchester
There’s lots of new menu happenings at The Winchester these days, starting with the introduction of a brand-new lunch menu served Tuesday through Friday. Solidifying itself as one of Chicago’s quintessential eclectic neighborhood haunts, the afternoon lineup runs the gamut from housemade pozole and Burrata-topped eggplant sandwiches to smoked chicken sandwiches, Brussels sprouts salad and a smoked fish board. And that’s not all that’s happening at the East Village go-to. Sunday nights are burger nights nowadays. Each week is a different rotating special burger with a shot of bourbon and a draft beer for $15.
Revana Family Vineyards Wine Dinner at RPM Steak
RPM Steak consistently proves itself to be one of the best steakhouses for a lavish wine dinner. Their next iteration, featuring Revana Family Vineyard, is no exception. Taking place October 26 at 7:00 p.m., the New World vineyards lend themselves to a five-course spree of indulgent dishes, paired alongside items like caviar & eggs, white truffle mushroom risotto and a 180-day dry-aged rib-eye. The dinner is $235 per person and reservations can be made by emailing rpmsteakparties@leye.com or calling 312-955-1431.
Tea with Maria Pinto at Brindille
You know the holiday season is getting close when Brindille brings back its periodic afternoon tea series. One of the best — and most elegant — ways to celebrate the season, the River North restaurant is debuting this year’s tea in style with special guest Maria Pinto on October 27. Taking place from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., the tea will feature Pinto’s latest fashion collection along with sweets and savories by Carrie Nahabedian and pastry chef Craig Harzewski. Expect crumpets, scones, finger sandwiches, candies and a dozen teas to choose from. Reservations are $65 per person and can be made by emailing info@brindille-chicago.com.
Brunch at Parson’s Chicken & Fish
Another surefire harbinger of colder weather? Brunch is back at Parson's Chicken & Fish! When the Logan Square hot spot closes its massive patio for the season, it swaps it out for daily brunch service, offered weekdays from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. and weekends from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. This year’s menu by chef Hunter Moore features savory, comforting options like chicken cutlets with potato pancakes and chunky apple sauce; shrimp & grits with bacon, sauce Creole and a poached egg; and migas, which consists of chicken and bacon chorizo, guajillo salsa, crispy tortillas, scrambled eggs and Chihuahua cheese. Don’t worry, though, old standbys like Parson’s chicken & waffles with maple brown butter are back again this year.
