Mixology Academy and Experiential Dinner at Mercadito

One of the best ongoing beverage events in Chicago, Mercadito’s Mixology Academy is back for more on June 17, followed by an experiential dinner two days later. River North’s perpetually hot Mexican restaurant and bar is christening summer in style with their next themed shindig, featuring a lesson on Bulleit Bourbon cocktails led by beverage director Paul Tanguay in the lower La Mez Agave Lounge at 3:00 p.m. The afternoon affair will exhibit tips and techniques for at-home bourbon mixology, along with a bit of history behind the Bulleit brand. Appetizers will also be provided and the cost to attend is $45 per person. Then two days later, Mercadito is hosting another event, this time a four-course dinner on June 19. Hosted by executive chef Patricio Sandoval and special guest Paul Sauter of Diageo, the degustation will include pairings of Don Julio tequila pours. Dishes to savor include a guacamole trio, ceviche, tacos and tres leches. The dinner costs $75 per person. Reservations are required for both events and can be made by calling Mercadito or visiting its website.
