Booth One Opens for Lunch

One of the ritziest newcomers to Chicago’s dining scenes just added lunch to its portfolio, in a move that’s sure to make Booth One the power lunch capital of the city. Now open weekdays from 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., Booth One has added a lineup of lighter dishes, zero-proof drinks and small plates like egg salad toast, vegetable tonnato and shrimp cocktail. Salads and sandwiches take the lead, with options such as a lobster Louie salad, the Beverly Hills Tennis Club salad with endive, Parmesan, pistachio and lemon, and the Green Sandwich with broccoli, spinach, bibb lettuce, Parmesan, pickles and green goddess dressing. There’s also a few items off the dinner menu, like the prime cheeseburger twins and the herb-marinated chicken.

Mardi Gras at Heaven on Seven

When it comes to Mardi Gras in Chicago, there’s really only one place to celebrate: Heaven on Seven. The original Cajun-inspired restaurant, in business for some 30-plus years, is renowned for its annual over-the-top celebrations for the holiday, and this year is no exception. Featuring a lineup of food and drink specials, live brand, lavish decorations and fun, there’s plenty of incentive to swing by Heaven for a good time. Specials and music will be offered February 9, 10 and again on the 13th. On all three days, the restaurant will open for lunch from 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. and for dinner from 5:30 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. Reservations are limited, so call in advance, because Mardi Gras here is always a big deal.
