Chocolate Chip Cookie Takeover at Publican Quality Meats

Cookie-lovers, take heed: one of Chicago’s best pastry chefs is popping up on the first Friday of each month with cookies galore at Publican Quality Meats, starting February 2. Dana Cree, an award-winning pastry chef and author of Hello, My Name Is Ice Cream, stocks the PQM cases with cookies starting at 9:00 a.m., featuring classic chocolate chip and a bevy of other rotating varieties, like chocolate mint chip made with garden mint-infused butter and dark chocolate mint chunks; and caramel milk chocolate blondies. All cookies are $3 each and available while supplies last.

Chocolate Fondue Day at Geja’s Cafe

In other chocolate news, Geja’s Cafe is celebrating chocolate fondue day with free fondue. As Chicago’s quintessential fondue restaurant, there’s really no better place to spend this sacred holiday, after all. On February 5, any customers dining at Geja’s Cafe who order a premier dinner, can get a free chocolate fondue for one to-go by simply mentioning that they’re there for National Chocolate Fondue Day.

Kids’ Brunch at Mott St

When it comes to brunching with kids, typically this means families are confined to the same noisy diners featuring the same mix of pancakes, French toast and scrambled eggs. Not anymore, thanks to place like Mott St, which extend the same ingenuity and thought into their kids’ menu as they do their regular fare. For brunch, kids now have lots of unique options to choose from, which should go a long way in terms of opening their eyes early to eclectic flavors. Like coconut pancakes with coconut cream, coconut flakes and pink peppercorn; kimchi udon with soft what noodles; grilled kimchi cheese sandwich on brioche; and congee, a creamy Thai-style rice porridge with Issan sausage, fish sauce, ginger and lime.

Groundhog Day at Oyster Bah

With the arrival of Groundhog Day, we’re starting to see the light at the end of the winter tunnel. Regardless of whatever the groundhog does or does not see, it merits celebration. Oyster Bah provides apt incentive for the occasion, as any customer who dines at the restaurant on February 2 will receive a gift card equal to the amount of their order to be used at a future visit.
