Weekend Planner: Valentine's Edition

Eat Your Hearts Out at Rockit Burger Bar

Nothing says "romance" quite like a heart attack burger. Especially one in the shape of a deep-fried mac & cheese heart. Chef Amanda Downing has created the fantastical special for Valentine's Day at Rockit Burger Bar, featuring a quarter pound black angus patty between two fried mac & cheese "buns" with lettuce, tomato, scallions, and sriracha ketchup. It's all served with truffle tots for $15 and available all day on February 14.

Heart-shaped Cookies and Pizza at Harry Caray's

In case heart-shaped mac & cheese burgers are too intimidating for you, you can decorate some of your own heart-shaped cookies and eat heart-shaped pizza at Harry Caray's. On February 13 and 14, both Harry Caray's 7th Inning Stretch and Harry Caray's Tavern allow guests to decorate heart-shaped cookies to their hearts' desire, and/or build their own heart-shaped pizzas.

Valentine's Day is for the Dogs

For those a little less concerned with heart-shaped foods, Bucktown Pub embraces its altruistic side for its 3rd annual Valentine's Day is For the Dogs event, sponsored by Lagunitas. The event serves as a fundraiser for Be Fido's Friend, a local organization dedicated to animal rescue. Taking place February from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., the dog-friendly day includes bobbing for hot dogs, a puppy kissing booth, a cakewalk, raffles, and more.
