Ramen Battle, Stone Crabs, The Best of Bucharest, and Ditka Day: Weekend Planner

Ramen Battle 6

The recurring ramen battles rage on at Yusho on October 19, wherein two guest chefs vie against one another for ramen glory. This weekend's featured chefs are Bill Kim of Urban Belly and Belly Shack fame, competing against Mindy Segal of HotChocolate. From 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., the ramen is on. For $35, guests get one bowl of each ramen, one draft cocktail, and one soft-serve ice cream dessert. Slurp to your heart's desire and decide your favorite ramen.

Stone Crab Claws at Hugo's Frog Bar

In preparation for Florida stone crab season, Hugo's Frog Bar is keen on getting guests in the shellfish spirit via complimentary stone crab claws. On October 17, the nautically minded restaurant is offering a free stone crab claw with dinner entree purchases starting at 3:00 p.m. It's the perfect way to get guests practiced for cracking their way through stone crab season.

Mike Ditka

The Best of Bucharest

Kick off fall harvest season with the Best of Bucharest on October 18, wherein Little Bucharest Bistro showcases some unique eastern European festivities for its first annual celebration. Running from noon until midnight, the joyous occasion features festivities, food, drinks, and more. Come for the grape-stomping and complimentary grape juice (feet not involved) and stay for the pig and lamb roasts, gypsy dancers, and buffet ($25 per person).  Starting at 9:00 p.m., plates start breaking as a ceremonial technique for warding off demons. There will also be a full bar in the main dining room.

Ditka Day and Super Fan Challenge at Timothy O'Toole's

In honor of "Da Coach's" 75th birthday on October 18, Timothy O'Toole's is celebrating Mike Ditka Day with festivities, food, and an unruly eating challenge. From 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., guests will have the opportunity to partake in the "Da Super Fan Challenge," featuring a meat-filled spread of baby back ribs, chicken wings, Polish sausage sandwich, Italian beef, french fries, and a Jumbo Miller Lite. If it's all consumed (bless you), then the fan will receive a Chicago Bears souvenir glass. Patrons visiting Timothy O'Toole's during this time will also be rewarded with free Ditka-inspired mustaches, aviator lenses, and other Ditka attire. Those dressed in Bears gear will also be entered to win a Ditka Bears jersey. Drink specials for the day include mix-and-match tallboys, the Iron Mike Mule (bourbon, ginger beer, lemonade, iced tea), The Hail Mary (cucumber vodka, gin, bloody Mary mix, salt and pepper rim, jalapeno bacon), Bear Flight shots, a Navy and Orange cocktail, and a Triple Option drink.
