Okonomiyaki at Ramen-san

Weekends are for pancakes. This of course includes okonomiyaki, aka Japanese savory pancakes popularized in Osaka. One of the first places in Chicago to peddle this unique delicacy is Ramen-san, which has begun serving three varieties of the dish on Saturdays and Sundays from noon until 2:00 p.m. Options include a version made wit Berkshire ham and cheese, one with crispy pork belly, and another with smoked brisket and octopus. Okonomiyakis go for $6 each.

Sunday Ragu Night at Osteria Langhe

Another specialty item on deck for the weekend only is ragu at Osteria Langhe. The Italian inspired Logan Square spot is serving up Sunday night ragu as an homage to family supper nights revered in Italian culture. Now for $19 per person, diners can feast on all-you-can-eat ragu every Sunday night during dinnertime, served with pasta prepared by chef Cameron Grant.

Sour Beer Day at Local Option

This coming Sunday, October 11, is a veritable sour beer day at Lincoln Park's Local Option. Numerous special ales will fill out the taps, including an exceedingly rare beer called Hanssens Scarenbecca, an oak-aged lambic made with Schaerbeek cherries. Starting at noon, other sour beers on tap include Almanac Dogpatch Sour, Boon Kriek, Great Divide 21st Anniversary, Jolly Pumpkin Fuego del Otoño, Logsdon Szech 'N Brett, and Prairie Brett C. 

Flamenco Parties at Bar Takito

A fun and fresh way to kick off your weekend shenanigans is the flamenco action happening at Bar Takito. Late night flamenco parties are now taking place every Friday night from 10:30 p.m. until 12:30 a.m., featuring live music and flamenco action from the Ronaldo Monge Troupe. Also on hand for flamenco time is a specialty sangria prepared by cocktail guru Adam Weber.
