Weekend Planner: Lollapalooza Edition

TWO's Second Anniversary

In honor of TWO's second anniversary (which would make this its golden anniversary, no?), the West Town restaurant is offering a pulled pork and draft beer special now through August 8. All for just $10, the combo features apple-smoked suckling pig with roasted parsnip puree, local corn, smoked pork jus, pea shoot salad, and a glass of Let it Go rye pale ale from Begyle Brewing.

"Free Spirit" Sliders and Woven House Party

After you've exhausted your capacity for crowds at Lollapalooza, head over to Municipal Bar + Dining Co. late on August 2 for The Woven House, a party hosted by Woven Digital and Mike's Hard Lemonade. Taking place from 10:00 p.m. until 3:00 a.m., the event features the musical stylings of DJ Rock City, The Melker Project, and The Knocks. To eat, snack on "Free Spirit" sliders made with jerk chicken, roasted pineapple and tequila salsa, and slaw on housemade hemp buns. These sliders will also be available all weekend long.

Lollapalooza Streaming at Headquarters

Since Lollapalooza isn't the easiest event to access, Headquarters provides the perfect alternative. The beercade is live-streaming the concert event this weekend, making for a calm and comfortable (at least compared to the actual Lollapalooza) setting in which to enjoy drinks while watching musicians. Several different channels on Headquarters' TV screens provide various vantage points of the event, including a hosted stream of artist interviews and behind-the-scenes footage.

Avoid the Musical Melee at Mott St

For the crowd-averse, Mott St is the perfect oasis. Complete with outdoor garden, corn hole, old-school music, shaved ice cocktails, and weekend BBQ fare, there's lots to love about this non-clusterfuck. What's better, Mott St is doling out free bottles of housemade sauce this weekend to the first 10 guests who arrive each day. Saucy options include ginger-scallion and ssam. The beer garden operates Saturday and Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.
