Weekend Planner August 29-August 31: Cirque du FMK, September Chocolate Preview, Dawson City Limits

Cirque du FMK

The greatest show on Earth is making its way to Fulton Market Kitchen this weekend and you want to be there. Because it's not very often you get to partake in cocktails, food, popcorn, and cotton candy in a sleek bar while gawking at magicians, contortionists, and "candy butchers." Particularly intrigued by the latter. Cirque du FMK makes for the perfect Labor Day kickoff, taking place from 8:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m., complete with circus acts, boozy snow cones, and lots more.  It's free to attend, with a cash bar on site. RSVP to RSVP@FultonMarketKitchen.com by August 28 to snag a spot.

Dawson City Limits

The final Dawson City Limits music show takes place August 31 at The Dawson, so be sure and swing by to send summer off in style. The summery Sunday series comes to a conclusion this weekend with a performance by Jenny Dragon on the ample patio from 5:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Special food and beverage are also on deck, including a crawfish boil for $25 per person and Clint Rogers' broiled vodka lemonade for $30 per pitcher or $10 per glass. Be there.

September Preview Party at Katherine Anne Confections

It's time once again to gather around the chocolate kitchen and taste a preview of what's to come at Katherine Anne Confections. The next seasonal preview party takes place August 29 from 5:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m., wherein guests will get to sample the fall products ready to hit the counter at the Logan Square chocolatier. The event entails truffles, caramels, marshmallows, and drinks aplenty, consumed open house-style. Here's a bit of what you can expect: truffle in flavors like pear-walnut-goat cheese, cheddar-apple, port-blue cheese-thyme, and cherry-ricotta-caraway; caramels flavored with brown sugar-ginger-lime, sesame-black pepper, peach-star anise, and Merlot-pecan; and mocha marshmallows infused with Ipsento coffee and chocolate. The cost to attend is $25 per person. Reserve your spot today by calling (773) 245-1630.
