Aphrodisiac Cocktail and Baking Class at mk

On the cusp of Valentine's Day, now is an apt time to start thinking about aphrodisiacs and ways to woo your lover. In case you're not well-versed in the ways of aphrodisiacs, let mk be your guide with their upcoming cocktail and baking class led by pastry chef Lisa Bonjour and wine and beverage director Jordyn Sotelo. The former will teach you how to make a chocolate tart, while the latter will guide you in the art of Prosecco cocktails. She'll also talk about affordable Champagnes ideal for the holiday. The class, a convenient date idea for couples, is $20 per person and starts at 4:30 p.m. on January 31. It's free to attend for attendees who stay for dinner after. Mindy Segal Guest Chefs at Sink|Swim's Next Surf|Turf Dinner

The sixth edition of Sink|Swim's ongoing Surf|Turf guest chef dinner series takes place this Sunday, January 31, featuring none other than HotChocolate's Mindy Segal. The dinner is a six-course affair, featuring nautical items by Sink|Swim's own Matt Danko, and other courses by Segal. The menu will be available from 6:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. Reservations are required for the menu and can be made on Sink|Swim's website. The cost is $65 per person, with optional beverage pairings at additional cost.

Ramen Battle 20 at Yusho

In other guest chef news, Yusho is poised to host its 20th Ramen Battle this weekend, playing host to competing chefs Danny Mejia of mfk and Jeff Eichem of Rootstock. The two restaurants are worlds apart, so it'll be interesting to see the chefs' interpretations of ramen, and how they compare. From 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on January 31, guests can order either ramen, with proceeds benefitting Pilot Light Chefs. The cost of $35 includes choice of ramen, soft-serve, and draft cocktail.
