Weekday Planner: White Wine Dinner, All-American Burgers, Rooftop Lunch, and New Orleans in Logan Square

White Wine Dinner

White wine and al fresco dining go together like beaches and sunburns. Ah, summer. Head up to the roof at Little Goat on July 17 for an apropos white wine dinner, featuring three courses of summery, wine-paired food. Fresh Vines will be in attendance to mingle with guests and talk shop. Tickets for the event cost $65 per person.

All-American Burgers

Since burgers and barbecue are two of the most iconic Americana summer sensations, it makes sense to combine the two into one gluttonous behemoth. Thus, the All-American Burger promotion going on at Barn & Company. The Lincoln Park barbecue haunt is serving up Western Texas Burgers heaped with beef brisket, a steak patty, Monterey Jack cheese, and pickled jalapenos. Since that's not nearly enough, it comes with fries, a Samuel Adams Summer Ale and a shot of Jack Daniels whiskey.

Friday Lunch on the Rooftop

Lunch is served! On the roof. At Fountainhead. On Fridays. The Ravenswood bar and restaurant is now serving lunch every Friday starting at noon, featuring everything from deviled eggs and turkey sandwiches to BBQ pulled pork and other salacious, booze-friendly specialties. Friday lunch will remain a thing here through summer and into fall, basically as long as the weather is tolerable.

A Taste of New Orleans in Logan Square

Start your week in New Orleans via Logan Square. In honor of the Tales of the Cocktail taking place in New Orleans, Scofflaw is transforming into Bourbon Street on July 13 from noon until 2:00 a.m. This special event features a slew of New Orleans-inspired cocktails, such as Sazeracs, Hurricanes, Brandy Milk Punch, Absinthe Frappes, Ramos Gin Fizzes, and more. Chef Mickey Neely will also be cooking soft shell crab po'boys, red beans and rice, and barbecued shrimp. Oh hi.
