Coppervine's Next Pairing Dinner
Coppervine is Chicago's preeminent pairing palace when it comes to booze and food combos. Keeping that momentum going, the restaurant hosts its next pairing dinner on August 27 with special guests from CH Distillery, working together to curate the perfect cocktail-paired dinner. Featuring CH founder Tremaine Atkinson, the dinner includes four courses of food, each one matched with a CH-filled cocktail. Items include mini buckwheat pancakes and sturgeon caviar paired with a CH vodka cocktail infused with Dolin Blanc and orange bitters; an Iberico loin plate with tomato escabeche, cauliflower couscous and an accompanying CH peppercorn vodka cocktail with orange blossom, basil, lime, and heirloom tomatoes; and limoncello sorbet with CH vodka, CH limoncello, lemon, and simple syrup. Revel Room Makes a Guest Appearance at The Local Chicago
The Local Chicago continues its esteemed Guest Bartending series this week with Brad Bolt of Revel Room, who will be manning bar from 9:00 p.m. until 11:00 p;.m. on August 25. His cocktail du jour is dubbed The Hard Sell, made with Beefeater Germain, fresh lemon, and Jeppson's Malort. Proceeds from said cocktail benefit Un 86'd. Plus, The Local Chicago offers 25% off for restaurant industry professionals after 10:00 p.m.

Heirloom Tomatoes Hit Full Tilt
It's time once again. Tomato time. Osteria Via Stato's annual heirloom tomato dinner takes place August 27 at 6:30 p.m., wherein chef David DiGregorio plays host to Nick Nichols of Nichols Farm for an evening filled with succulent summer fruits. SideDoor Taps Into its First Beer Dinner
SideDoor is just about ready to launch its first beer dinner, which is about as exciting as a baby's first steps. The "Best of the Midwest" beer dinner takes place August 27 (holy crap there are a lot of dinners that night), featuring a Midwest-tastic spread of food and beer. Starting with a reception at 6:30 p.m., the meal includes food prepared by chef Victor Newgren adjoined by beers selected by beverage director Jeff Van Der Tuuk. Along with hors d'oeuvres and amuse bouches, the degustation includes items such as melon gazpacho paired with Perennial Hopfentea Berliner Weisse; pan-seared grouper with tri-colored pepper slaw and Against the Grain Bay and Pepper Your Bretts Saison; Basil Hayden bourbon-glazed pork tenderloin with grits-stuffed fried zucchini blossoms and Boulevard Rye on Rye Bourbon Aged Rye; baked Brie with basil berry compote and Three Floyds Dreadnaught Imperial IPA; and for dessert, espresso-infused dark chocolate brownies with vanilla gelato, bourbon caramel, and Great Divide Chocolate Oak Aged Yeti Imperial Stout.
