Weekday Planner: The Terrace at Trump, Lagunitas Beer Dinner, Heartland Benefit, and BBQ Month
Weekday Planner: The Terrace at Trump
One of the most ravishing al fresco settings in the city, The Terrace at Trump is poised for an early May debut, offering sprawling views of downtown, the Chicago River, and the lake from the sixteenth floor of the Trump International Hotel & Tower. With more seats than past seasons, this year offers room for 250 guests within its chic environs. Chef Michael Fiddler curates a Mediterranean-inspired menu of summery dishes, followed by nostalgic warm-weather desserts such as coconut cream pie and whoopie pies. For cocktails, expect fruity quaffs like punch.

Lagunitas Beer Dinner
In preparation for California-based Lagunitas' imminent brewery debut in Chicago, beer-happy Howells & Hood is hosting a Lagunitas beer dinner on April 30. Showcasing Lagunitas' crafty brews, the event is a four-course seasonal meal curated by chef Scott Walton, each dish augmented with a six-ounce pour of Lagunitas beer. The event begins at 6:00 p.m. with a reception, followed by dinner. The cost is $49 per person and reservations can be made by calling 312-262-5310.
Benefit at Heartland Cafe
Former Heartland Cafe and Red Line Tap employees Evan West and his wife Jamie West experienced tragedy at this year's South by Southwest festival in Austin, Texas. After a hit-and-run incident that left Evan injured and his wife dead, Heartland Cafe is hosting a benefit on May 1 to support Evan in the wake of the event. Doors open at 7:00 p.m. for a night filled with music, a silent auction, and more. To make a donation, visit here.
