Weekday Planner: St. Feuillien at Trenchermen, DryHop's Barrel-aged Premiere, Rum Pop-up, and Lagunitas Dinner

St. Feuillien Beer Dinner at Trenchermen

On November 11, the fourth generation owner of Belgium's Brasserie St. Feuillien journeys to Trenchermen to host a four-course beer dinner. Dominique Friart is the guest of honor for the boozy degustation, on hand to showcase her family's brewery and discuss its lore, all while executive chef Pat Sheerin cooks up dishes to harmonize. Collectively, Friart's beers have won more awards and accolades than Meryl Streep, so this is legit. The meal begins with an amuse of pickle tots, red onion yogurt, and caviar, matched with St. Feuillien's Grand Cru, followed by a first course of chicken fat-roasted carrots with apricot, smoked fried chicken, and a rich and heady Saison to match. Oilive oil-poached shrimp in lobster curry broth with quinoa and herbs is second course, accompanied by a malty Tripel, while Duroc pork with grains, malt roasted vegetables, and a glass of Belgian Coast IPA serve as the final savory pairing. Dessert consists of "Biere-a-misu" with golden raisins and chicory, matched with St. Feuillien's Speciale. The cost for this can't-miss beer dinner is just $75 per person, available here

DryHop Releases Inaugural Barrel-aged Beer

In other beer news, DryHop Brewers releases its first barrel-aged beer on November 11, which officially makes this coming Tuesday the best beer day of the week. At 6:00 p.m. on the dot, the brewpub taps Screaming for Vengeance, a barrel-aged oatmeal stout that sounds like a Quentin Tarantino flick. In honor of the Festival of Barrel Aged Beer next week, DryHop wanted to do a little barrel-aged drinking of its own, serving up a beer that has been aged in a Tailwinds Distilling Company rum barrel for three months, garnering notes of toffee, vanilla, and coffee.

A Taste of Havana at Club Lucky

The perfect remedy for those chilly weather woes? A pop-up booze event inspired by Havana, Cuba, and all the liquor riches therein. On November 10, Caña Brava Rum takes over Club Lucky to revive the Floridita Bar of Cuban lore, depicting the classic bar that Hemingway used to patronize. From 7:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m., the bar will take on a Cuban motif, outfitted with classic rum cocktails crafted by mixologist Mike Ryan and Simon Ford.  Expect to sip daiquiris of all kinds, and more.

Lagunitas Beer Dinner at Phil Stefani's 437 Rush

In case you aren't yet drunk enough, head to Phil Stefani's 437 Rush for a Lagunitas beer dinner on November 12. From 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., the restaurant will serve up multiple courses of beer-paired dishes along with raffle prizes and souvenir pint glasses. The menu features items such as crispy calamari in Calabrese pepper emulsion with jumbo lump crab salad with Lagunitas DayTime to drink; grilled baby octopus with stewed butter beans, mint dressing, and Lagunitas Pilsner; large tube pasta in wild boar ragout with Taleggio fondue and Lagunitas Censored; blackberry panna cotta with blueberry compote, vanilla sauce, beer foam, and Lagunitas Lil Sumpin' Wild Ale; and more.
