4th Annual Share Our Strength BBQ

It's time once again for the Share Our Strength BBQ dinner at The Bristol. Because the only thing that can be better than Bristol BBQ is Bristol BBQ with a side of altruism. $5 from every prix fixe dinner sold, available from June 28 through July 4, goes to Share Our Strength. Charity is easy to do with a menu as alluring as this one, made even better by beer pairings from Moody Tongue. The menu features salmon tartare with buttermilk cracker and creme fraiche sorbet; poached egg with spigerello, cracklin, pine nut, and currant ravigote; grilled octopus with potato salad and Calabrian chile; "franks and beans" with bratwurst and Bristol smoked beans; and a TBD dessert. The cost for the menu is $44 per person, plus an additional $15 for beer pairings, which include beers like Steeped Emperors Lemon Saison, Shocked Apricot Belgian Pale Ale, and Sliced Nectarine India Pale Ale. 

Luau Dinner at Tokio Pub

In other prix fixe dinner news, Tokio Pub is bringing back one of the coolest, funnest dinners of the season. The Hawaiian-style luau dinner takes place June 29 at 6:30 p.m., a prix fixe affair of tropical dishes and libations, complete with ukuleles, marimbas, hula dancers, and more. Diners all get adorned with their own lei at dinnertime, a four-course spree that starts off with tuna poke and progresses to salmon belly-packed lomilomi salad, Kalua-style roasted pig, and coconut cake. Beachy beverages match with each course. The luau costs $45 per person and reservations can be made by calling the restaurant.

Green Street Smoked Meats and Dusek's Open for Lunch

During your lunch hour, there are two restaurants rolling out lunch menus that you may want to get hungry for. That should be easy to do when those restaurants are Green Street Smoked Meats and Dusek's Board and Beer. Green Street, the West Loop's hyper-popular barbecue haunt, is now serving its regular menu during lunch from Tuesday through Saturday, 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 a.m. On Sunday, hours are 12:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m. 

Down in Pilsen, Dusek's Board and Beer focuses on fan favorite menu items for its weekday lunch program, like the Juicy Lucy and the market omelet, along with new items like oyster po' boys, and fried chicken with grits. The standout lunch item is the "Lunch Ordinary," a wallet-friendly combo that includes choice of sandwich and Moody Tongue's Thalia Hall Pilsner, plus a "back to work" coffee to help you on your way.
