Weekday Planner: RPM Italian Wine Dinner, Choucroute Dinner, Farm to Fork, and Yum Cha Dinner

Allegrini Wine Dinner

Wine helps ease the sting of the work week. It's especially nourishing when the wine is courtesy of sixth generation Italian vineyard, Allegrini. On October 14, RPM Italian hosts Marilisa Allegrini for a five-course fete showcasing chef Doug Psaltis' Italian cuisine paired with wine, incluing a new world-inspired Super Tuscan. Wines to be featured include Poggio al Tesoro "Solosole" Vermentino, Allegrini Valpolicella, Poggio Al Tesoro "Sondraia," and Allegrini Amarone. The cost to attend is $120 per person and reservations can be made by calling 312-222-1888 or emailing rpmitalianparties@leye.com.

Choucroute is Served

Get ready to pretty much literally pig out for a good cause. Because feasting on choucroute is even more delicious when proceeds benefit the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago for research. On October 16, TÊTE Charcuterie hosts a special choucroute-themed dinner, wherein Howells & Hood chef Scott Walton works alongside TÊTE chefs Thomas Rice and Kurt Guzowski to show different ways one can prepare a half pig. Starting at 9:00 p.m., the pig-filled feast costs $85 per person and reservations can be made by calling 312-733-1178.

Farm to Fork Fest

Celebrate fall in all its fruitful, bountiful glory at Terzo Piano's 5th annual Farm to Fork Fest on October 16. Showcasing the season's preeminent farmers, brewers, ingredients, and distillers, the annual soiree opens with a reception filled with antipasti and mingling with purveyors. Next, chef/partner Tony Mantuano engages in a friendly "quick fire challenge" with John Hogan, longtime friend and executive chef at Mantuano's River Roast. Then it's time to partake in a three-course family-style spread, along with a cash bar. Tickets are $99 per person and reservations can be made by calling 312-443-8650.

Legends of the Four Generations Wine Family Dinner

In case you aren't wined and dined out on this particularly wine-fueled week, Yum Cha and Terlato Wines team up for a prix fixe affair on October 15, dubbed "Legends of the Four Generatiosn Wine Family." Sounds like a Nintendo game, but tastes much better. Joined by special guest Josephine Terlato, the multi-course affair features an array of top-tier wines adjoined by traditional dim sum dishes prepared by chef Rodelio Aglibot. Kicking off at 6:00 p.m., the menu includes chicken siu mai, cauliflower and chili pods, kale and butternut squash crystal dumplings, black tea-smoked sea bass, spicy szechuan filet, and mango pudding with tapioca creme. The cost for dinner is $60 per person and reservations can be made by calling 312-946-8885.
