Weekday Planner: Roscoe Village Wine Stroll, "Day After" Beers, Margarita Class, and Secret Patio

Roscoe Village Wine Stroll

Nothing like a booze-fueled stroll through picture-perfect Roscoe Village to put a little spring in your step. An apt celebration of warmer weather, the inaugural wine stroll event is sponsored by Lush Wine & Spirits in conjunction with the Roscoe Village Chamber of Commerce. Taking place May 29 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., the event allows participants to wander around the Roscoe Village strip exploring boutique businesses and sampling a plethora of different wines and small bites. There will also be a wine trolley circling the neighborhood to escort guests as they please. Check-in begins at 5:00 p.m. and all attendees are required to register with the Roscoe Village Chamber of Commerce at 3201 N. Wolcott.

"Day After" Beers at Local Option

Beginning at 3:00 p.m. on Memorial Day, May 26, Local Option will be tapping into 31 exceptionally rare and powerful beers for their "Day After" celebration. The all-star draft lineup includes Boulevard Saison Brett, Central Waters Exodus, Dark Horse Bourbon Barrel Aged Plead the Fifth, Evil Twin Even More Jesus, and Surly Pentagram.

Cocktail Class at Nacional 27

You love drinking margaritas in the summertime, so why not learn how to make a few novel variations to jazz up your seasonal booze spree? Nacional 27 is here to help. On May 28 at 6:00 p.m., Elyse Fuller will demonstrate three different styles of margaritas for thirsty students. Passed tapas will accompany. The class is $15 per person and you can register on Nacional 27's website.

Bask in Stella Barra's Hidden Patio

Warmer weather means patios are popping up faster than cicadas. One new al fresco spot to note is the clandestine nook at Stella Barra. Tucked away from street traffic, the hidden patio boasts vintage brick, bluestone floors, a six-foot fireplace, dangling lights, and a 15-foot tree in the center. If this doesn't sound like al fresco heaven...
