15th Anniversary Week at Nacional 27

In honor of its impressive 15th anniversary, River North game-changer Nacional 27 is blowing out the candles all week long with a series of events. Each day of the week, the barstaurant is offering various $15 specials, including a three-course anniversary menu available through Thursday and pitchers of rum punch available through Saturday. There's also complimentary salsa dance lessons at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday and an ice luge filled with booze on Saturday night, adjoined by Latin tunes until the wee hours of the night.

Rooftop Movies at Packing House

If watching The Goonies on a West Loop rooftop whilst surrounded by liquor doesn't sound like an ideal Tuesday night, then you may want to check your pulse and confirm you're OK. Because this is sublime. Packing House is airing The Goonies August 19 on their panoramic roof, complete with Adult Apple Juice to really drive home the childhood sentiment. Guests can also order snacks off the rooftop menu. Next Tuesday, heads up that Clerks is playing and you'll want to make a return trip.

Go Southern at Local Root

If you're looking for a little Southern hospitality and verve, head east to Streeterville and partake in Local Root's new Thursday night specials and events. Through the end of August, Thursday evenings are all about live Bluegrass music by the Dog Patch Ramblers and Southern-themed menus crafted by chef/owner Isaac Weliver. Each three-course menu is $38 per person, with this week's sampling serving as an homage to Alabam and the 28th an ode to Louisiana. Reservations click here
