Weekday Planner: Nicky's Week, Thursday Cocktail Specials, FEW Spirit'd Dinner

Nicky's Week at Ra Sushi

Eat sushi for a good cause all next week, May 25 through May 31, at Ra Sushi. During this time, known as "Nicky's Week," all Ra Sushi locations across the country host a fundraiser to support kids battling cancer and other life-threatening diseases. The 11th annual Nicky's Week sends 100% of proceeds from select menu items to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. These items include edamame, Tootsy makim, shrimp nigiri, pork gyoza, sesame garlic chicken, garlic citrus yellowtail, and several beverages.

Thursday Cocktail Specials at Bistro Campagne

Thursdays just got a whole lot thirstier. Every week, Bistro Campagne discounts its cocktails to just $8, and considering the craft spirit-driven drink list, this is quite the bargain. Drinks include aperitifs such as Kir Royales; Suze Gentiane Liqueur; and Byrrh Grand Quinquina. Classic cocktails include Aviations, French Manhattans infused with Mandarine Napoleon, and Boulevardiers. There's also modern options like La Pommier with Prairie Organic vodka, DuPont Pommeau, brown sugar syrup, lemon, and whiskey barrel bitters; Vive La Fete with Deaths Door gin, Aperol, Leopold Bros Sour Cherry, lemon, and house sour cherry bitters; and Bed & Breakfast with Bulleit bourbon, Benedictine, brown sugar syrup, and house coffee bitters.

FEW Spirit'd Dinner at Adamus

If you'd like your cocktails paired with an elaborate degustation, then look no further than the FEW Spirit'd dinner taking place at Adamus on May 26. Located inside the newly renovated Silversmith Hotel in the Loop, Adamus is a slick gem of a restaurant in which to enjoy a five-course spree of food and liquor. Seasonal, contemporary American flavors combine with local spirits mixed into barrel-aged cocktails. There will also be a master distiller from FEW, an Evanston-based distillery, in attendance to make a presentation. The event begins with a welcome reception at 6:30 p.m., followed by dinner at 7:00 p.m. The cost to attend is $125 per person or $200 per couple. Call the restaurant for reservations.
