Weekday Planner: National Sandwich Day, Clubhouse Wednesdays, Acadia Tuesdays, All Stouts Day

Get Meaty for National Sandwich Day

As you should know, November 3 is National Sandwich Day, a day to worship that quintessential lunchtime favorite in all its glory. It's an occasion especially worth celebrating when said sandwiches are heaped with meat, which makes Chop Shop destination number one for the holiday. The deli area of the restaurant will be offering all of their seven-inch sandwiches for $5 from 11:00 a.m. through 8:00 p.m., and in case that wasn't enough, there will also be a special "Meat House" sandwich for the day. The foot-long behemoth is piled high with Italian sausage, giardiniera, Provolone, meatball, and Italian beef. Get it for $9.

Half Price Clubhouse Wednesdays

No better way to get over the mid-week hump than with half-priced cocktails and $1 oysters. Tortoise Club to the rescue! The River North restaurant is offering all cocktails 50% all day on Wednesdays for their new Clubhouse Wednesdays promo. And that's not all. From 4:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m., shrimp and oysters are $1 a pop in the lounge on weekdays.

All Stouts Day at Bangers & Lace

Forget All Souls Day. Bangers & Lace is all about All Stouts. Wicker Park's esteemed beer bar is celebrating stouts in all their heady supremacy on November 3 by featuring special stouts and special menu items designed to pair with each. Beers on deck starting at 4:00 p.m. include Belly's Brewery's Cherry Stout, Expedition Stout, Kalamazoo Stout, Special Double Cream Stout, Java Stout, and Harry Magill's Spice Stout. Menu specials designed to pair include fennel beef banger with coffee jus and mashed potatoes; malted milk and almond pork sausage with pumpkin puree and dried cranberry; clove pork sausage with currant pork jus and spaghetti squash; and The Beard Wrecker, a dessert of bourbon vanilla marshmallow, salted chocolate, and graham cracker s'mores.
