Cocktail Class at Frontier
Modern day mixology is the order of the day at Frontier's forthcoming cocktail experience taking place in the upstairs lounge on October 8. Beginning at 7:00 p.m., beverage director Sean Nielsen will curate a unique drinking experience that promises to teach attendees about cocktail lore and techniques used in contemporary mixology today. Poised like a class, guests will get the opportunity to craft three classic cocktails, while snacking on appetizers courtesy of chef Brian Jupiter. At the end of the evening, each guest will get a variety of bartending tools to take home. The cost to attend is $65 per person and tickets can be secured here.
Embeya's Spice Route Dinner Series With Carrie Nahabedian
This week, Embeya embarks on a Spice Route journey featuring the handiwork of a rotating roster of talented guest chefs. The inaugural Spice Route dinner series takes place October 7, as executive chef Mike Sheerin teams up with Carrie Nahabedian of NAHA and Brindille for a five-course family-style feast of 15 to 18 dishes. Said dishes will borrow inspiration from the likes of the Middle East, Asia, France, and the U.S. The impetus for the new series was to serve as an homage to the ancient spice routes and trade networks of yore, which served to fuse flavors and techniques across a plethora of disparate regions. At Embeya, the dinner series encourages chefs to do similarly, melding their distinct styles and flavors together into one vibrant feast. Wine pairings will be provided courtesy of executive director Attila Gyulai. It all starts with a reception at 6:30 p.m., followed by the tasting menu at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $125 per person and can be purchased by calling the restaurant.
#TBT at Belly Shack
Over the years, Belly Shack has amassed an impressive portfolio of memorable dishes indicative of the restaurant's Latin and Asian stylings. In order to commemorate past staples, the restaurant is conducting a Throwback Thursday (#TBT) series this month, wherein each Thursday features a different special dish from menus past. With Belly Shack turning six this month, there's a lot of old goodies to bring back too. On October 8, it's a meatball sandwich with somen noodles, chili paste, and mint; followed by Lola's lechon with yellow river rice on October 15, and a variety of throwback dishes during the anniversary week of October 20 through October 25.
Firestone Walker Beer Dinner
Firestone Walker Brewing Company steps into the spotlight at Bread & Wine for a special autumnal beer dinner on October 6. Running from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., the six-course affair features various craft beers paired with seasonal fare by chef Caleb Trahan. These dishes include morcilla with lemongrass and sweet pepper; whitefish with hay and Champagne grapes; ground cherry with tomato and pineapple sage; and pork with buttermilk and onion. Beers on deck for the occasion are Easy Jack, Pivo Pilsner, Opal, Double Jack, Wooky Jack, and DBA. The cost for the event is $65 per person and seats can be snagged by calling Bread & Wine.
