Cultural Crossover at Tanta

Get ready for some serious foodie fusion. Peruvian cuisine is about to collide with Asian fare as part of Tanta's inaugural “Cultural Crossover” chef collaboration dinner series. Taking place January 22 at 6:00 p.m., the first in the forthcoming quarterly series features Tanta's chef de cuisine Jesus Delgado teaming up with Bill Kim of bellyQ, Urban Belly, and Belly Shack to cook up a Peruvian-Asian menu with inspired cocktails and wines. The six-course collaboration includes dishes prepared by each chef, such as Kim's sweet potato and maple dumplings, Delgago's anticucho BBQ, and much more. Tickets are $99 per person for dinner, or $150 with paired drinks. Make reservations by calling Lucy Kendall at 312-222-9604 or emailing events@tantachicago.com.

Whiskey & Art at DryHop Brewers

Whiskey and art go together like Bert and Ernie. Minus the quasi-sexual undertones. For the most part. The two forces join together on January 20 at DryHop Brewers for the brewery's seventh whiskey and art event, and the first of the new year. Each month features a different artist and whiskey theme, with this month's event showcasing three Van Winkle wheated bourbons along with new work from local illustrator and musician Samuel Nigrosh of Sun Eater Studio. He's crafted a limited run of screen prints for the occasion, available exclusively for sale at DryHop from January 20 through March 23. The event is non-ticketed. More info can be found here
