#TDSMonday With Shin Thompson

Acclaimed chef Shin Thompson is returning to his old Logan Square stomping ground for one night on Labor Day, September 1, for another #TDSMonday at Table, Donkey and Stick. Here, he'll be manning the Monday $5 specials, available from 5:00 p.m. until midnight. Dishes include a grass-fed burger motoyaki with mushrooms and torched ponzu aioli; hand-rolled gnocchi with tarragon-sherry sauce; pork roast cassoulet with panko and fines herbes; and peach and walnut bread pudding with white chocolate creme anglaise. Friendly reminder that every Monday TDS offer $5 specials plus $.50 cans of beer with food purchase and $3 bourbon shots. 
Tequila Thursdays
Nothing quite helps the week go by smoothly like tequila. Lots of tequila. Especially when consumed on a day that phonetically sounds pleasing, like Thursday. Because tequila Monday would just be weird. Takito Kitchen knows what's up, and they're now offering weekly tequila dinner specials on Thursdays, wherein for $18 per person, diners can partake in a three-course dinner paired with Milagro. The menu features hearts of palm salad, choice of tacos, and Mexican chocolate ganache or arroz con dulce de leche.

Sake 101
Curious to delve further into the annals of rice wine? Look no further than Arami, a Japanese temple eager and ready to take your hand through this beautiful sake journey. The restaurant is hosting a Sake 101 class on September 2 at 7:00 p.m. Arami's resident sake expert Carol Guerra will lead guests on a tasting of four different sakes, discussing the merits of each one as they sip. By the time you're done, you'll be well-versed in the various styles and profiles of different sakes. The cost to attend is $30 per person and reservations can be made by emailing carol@aramichicago.com. 
Chicago q's Golden Anniversary
This year is Chicago q's golden anniversary, as the Gold Coast barbecue bastion prepares to blow out the candles beginning September 4 for its fourth year in beefy business. Hence, the restaurant will appropriately offer four $4 menu specials available through September 7. These dishes are summer corn and squash fritters, pork skewers, braised pork belly salad, and alligator tacos. Additionally, on September 4 10% of proceeds will go to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS), so you can feel great about inhaling pork belly and alligator.
