Pilot Light Back to School Block Party

School's back in session, and one of the most important lessons of all is fostering a positive relationship between kids and food that does not involve a vending machine. That's where Pilot Light comes in to the picture. The non-profit organization was originated by Paul Kahan, Justin Large, Ryan Poli, Matthias Merges, and Jason Hammel, inspired by Michelle Obama's "Let's Move, Chefs Move to Schools" initiative. Likewise, Pilot Light strives to teach children about making healthy food choices via culinary education as part of school curriculums. On Friday, October 4, Pilot Light ignites a back-to-school block party at Publican Quality Meats to advance the program, featuring several of Chicago's top chefs all working to support the educational initiative.
