Eleven City Diner's Lincoln Park Sister to Open Next Week

The South Loop's bastion of delicatessen and diner dreams is about to expand to Lincoln Park when Eleven City Diner opens Eleven Lincoln Park on June 25. For owner Brad Rubin, the new location is an opportunity to enhance the casual family restaurant scene in Chicago, something he's been yearning for since childhood. Reared on old school diners and Jewish delis, the Eleven brand is a return to those comforts for Rubin, and a chance to share it with the city.

The new diner is a 5,200 square foot space at 2301 N. Clark St., an area Rubin feels perfectly dovetails with his idea of comfortable neighborhood dining. Similar to the original location, which has been satiating comfort food quotas for years, Eleven Lincoln Park will feature diner/deli heartwarmers such as matzo ball soup, Reuben sandwiches, latkes, and hulking cakes. In addition, the 14-page bible of a menu will also contain some Lincoln Park originals, such as black & white French toast (like the cookie... drool over that for a bit), a corned beef-latke hybrid called the #43 sandwich, and a black & blue burger made with Angus beef and blue cheese butter. Breakfast will be served all day, every day. In case the menu wasn't enough, guests will also be able to peruse a large confectionary counter stocked with sweets, order Intelligentsia coffee from the barista station, select food to go from the delicatessen area, and design their own salads from the salad counter. Another unique asset to the Lincoln Park locale is a duo of reclaimed root beer barrels behind the counter, filled with a blonde and 12-month cask-aed original blend.

Eleven City Diner's nostalgic motif carries over to Lincoln Park as well, as the new restaurant contains a myriad of vintage wares, a full-fledged soda fountain set-up by the art deco counter, over-sized leather booths, antique lighting fixtures, and more. Eleven Lincoln Park opens June 25. Hours are 8:00 a.m. until 9:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. until 10:30 p.m. Friday, 8:30 a.m. until 10:30 p.m. Saturday, and 8:30 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. Sunday.
