Dinner and a Movie and a Garden

It's not every dinner and a movie that comes with a side of garden soil. But considering the subject matter, Food Patriots, the setting could not be more apropos. Join Peterson Garden Project, a non-profit organization that encourages people to grow their own food at community gardens throughout Chicago, for this special dinner and a movie event at Global Garden (3000 W. Lawrence) on September 19.

Dinner is provided by Chipotle, served from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. A screening of Food Patriots follows, documenting a family's struggle with their teenage son's foodborne superbug. Filmmakers Jeff and Jennifer Spitz alter their lifestyles by learning to raise backyard chickens and grow their own food. Prepare to be inspired.

The event is free to attend, but folks must pre-register here. It's BYO chair or blanket.
