Brunch Bites: Township and The Dawson

In this week's batch of brunch bites, Township rounds out its brunch menu with a bevy of new dishes and The Dawson launches an "after brunch" menu.

Township
Grain bowl a la Township

Most Logan Squarers know Township as a hip, casual, and fun music venue. What some may not know is that this is a music venue with an appetite; an appetite for sustainable and organic ingredients. The diner-y restaurant portion of the venue recently added a miscellany of new items to its brunch menu, which is made all the better in that brunch is served Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m., and weekends from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. So you're never far from your next fix. The newly added items include a shiitake omelet with green onion, goat cheese, and spicy potato cake; curried tofu scramble with kale, cherry tomatoes, and pearl onions; savory pancakes with poached farm egg, kale, and carrots; watercress salad; and grain bowls spilling over with farro, basmati rice, kale, pepitas, roasted potato, and poached farm egg.

Who says brunch shouldn't be an all-day affair? The Dawson keeps the leisurely Sunday vibes going all afternoon with its new "after brunch" menu. Available from 2:30 p.m. until 4:30 p.m., the "after brunch" serves as a natural and casual extension of the brunch program, albeit a bit more snack-based and more amenable to share plates. Think mac & cheese, duck wings a l'Orange, fried avocado and chips, and fried French toast with foie gras butter (!!). Round it all out with a bottle of vailable for $10, and is perfect for the late-arriving crowd who craves comfort food.  The After Brunch menu can be paired with a bottle of Gruet Bruit Rosé or a boilermaker.
