Brunch Bites: The Promontory and The Signature Room
In this week's batch of brunch bites, The Promontory gets musical and The Signature Room extends brunch service.
Brunch and brass go together handily at The Promontory, and not because they phonetically sound great. Music is an integral component at the Hyde Park restaurant, so the fusion is a natural extension, set to take shape with their inaugural Brass Band Brunch on January 25. Featuring the sultry stylings of the Lowdown Brass Band, the family-style brunch kicks off at noon, with seating available starting at 11:30 a.m. It's hosted upstairs in The Promontory's performance space, outfitted with communal tables and a stage for the horn-happy Chicago band. The menu includes items like eggs Sardou, potatoes, cheese grits, pork bacon, huckleberry bread pudding, and assorted breakfast pastries. Brass brunch runs until 2:00 p.m. and costs $50 per person.
In other brunch news, The Signature Room is extending its weekend brunch service for the new year. The high-flying restaurant near the top of the Hancock Tower has replaced its lunch buffet with a brunch-focused one that affords diners a brunch entree, access to the brunch buffet, and a Champagne cocktail. Brunch is now available Saturdays and Sundays from 10:00 a.m. until 2:30 p.m., featuring items like apple pie pancakes, grilled pork loin, eggs Benedict, and more. The cost is $45 for adults and $25 for children younger than 12. Reservations can be made by calling 312-787-9596.
