Mimosas, Bloody Marys, and peanut butter-Nutella-banana French toast are all trotting into business at The Pony, as part of the bar and restaurant's new weekend brunch menu. Best known for their enormous arm-length grilled cheese sandwich, Lakeview's The Pony has added a bevy of new comfort food creations to their weekend portfolio, including that aforementioned Elvis-pleasing French toast, plus egg sliders, brisket hash, and chicken confit chilaquiles. The Pony is also upping the ante on booze with their flavored mimosa bar and Tito's Bloody Mary bar. Brunch is served Saturdays and Sundays from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.

As one bar rolls out brunch, a brunch-centric staple is accentuating their crowd-pleasing menus with a few new items fit for warm-weather cravings. Kanela Breakfast Club has updated their breakfast, brunch, and lunch menus for the season, including a standout Nutella s'mores waffle filled with all sorts of summertime campfire nostalgia. The dessert-y dish contains a Belgian-style waffle stacked with Nutella, crushed graham crackers, caramelized marshmallows, and chocolate sauce. Other dishes skew savory, like the chicken and waffles with sriracha honey sauce, biscuits and gravy with Southern-style house pork sausage and sage gravy, and Monto Cristos with smoked ham, Swiss cheese, challah French toast, egg, and house raspberry jam.
