Brunch Bites: Smoke Daddy and Davanti Enoteca

In this week's batch of brunch bites, The Smoke Daddy serves up its "5 Days of Brunch" lineup for the holidays and Davanti Enoteca rolls out a Bloody Mary cart.

Smoke Daddy
(Brunch at Smoke Daddy goes for five days straight)

There's a lot to love about The Smoke Daddy; the barbecue, the boisterous party vibe, the live music among the myriad reasons. And let's not forget about brunch, a Wicker Park weekend pastime filled with fried peanut butter and banana sandwiches, pulled pork Benedicts, skillet cornbread, and lots more. The only way brunch at Smoke Daddy can get any better is if it's offered for five consecutive days. Because weekends are never long enough. Luckily for us, the holidays are the most magical time of year when wishes come true, and Smoke Daddy is bringing back its revered "5 Days of Brunch" series, wherein the meal is served for five days straight December 31 through January 4.  It's the perfect spot to recover from the holidays, to watch sports games, to ease into the New Year while ignoring exercise resolutions, etc.

Speaking of comforting brunch staples, the Bloody Mary reigns supreme in the beverage department. Cocktails are good and all, but why order a regular ol' Bloody Mary when you can order off a Bloody Mary CART. It's like Mario Kart, but booze. And everyone's a winner. Davanti Enoteca River North is rolling out a new Bloody Mary cart to bring the boozy experience table side, complete with customizable add-ons like various pickles, olives, meats, and cheeses. Drinks come in various styles too, like El Guapo with tequila, chipotle, tomato, cilantro, and hot sauce; Tommy Devito with vodka, San Marzano tomato, oregano, and chile flakes; and the House Bloody Mary with tomato juice, pickle juice, horseradish, and Worcestershire.
