Brunch Bites: Real Kitchen

In this week's batch of brunch bites, Real Kitchen's second location rolls out BYO brunch and Blue Door Farm Stand adds brunch dishes to its wholesome repertoire.

Brunch Bites: Real Kitchen  has established itself as a venerable go-to for grab-and-go goods on the edge of Uptown and Ravenswood. The small storefront is chock full of take-home entrees that change on the daily, showcasing a unique approach to chef-driven prepared meals. They also make some of the best sandwiches in the city, featuring offbeat updates on inspired classics like jibaritos and meatball subs. Now with Real Kitchen's new Lakeview location, the fast-casual eatery is upping the ante with brunch. Expect the same type of ever-changing modern creations, but in a casual BYO sit-down format. Dishes include cinnamon rolls, bacon-Gruyere-arugula quiche, chorizo and egg torta, and lamb merguez meatballs with fried eggs and tomato ragout.

Blue Door Farm Stand is revered for its quaint, wholesome lunch options, but now you can safely salivate over their brunch items as well. The Lincoln Park cafe recently rolled out new breakfast and brunch options such as a Sunrise BLT with sunnyside-up eggs; the Pitchfork sandwich with turkey, Gruyere, Havarti, Swiss, eggs, and truffle mushroom sauce; a Brown Line wrap with scrambled eggs, Havarti, bacon, oven-roasted onions, and red bell peppers; and a Purple Line wrap with scrambled eggs, Havarti, roasted zucchini, squash, onions, and bell peppers. These new additions are available Monday through Friday until 10:30 a.m. and weekends until noon.
