Avondale's popular barbecue haunt, Pork Shoppe, is growing fast. On the heels of opening a new, larger location in Andersonville, the restaurant has amped up their menu offerings with a new weekend brunch program. True to form, it's a meaty affair filled with pork, Tex-Mex, and hash. Try the burly breakfast burrito brimming with eggs, potatoes, refried beans, onions, jalapeno, and spicy sausage. The migas is a dish inspired by zesty Texas lore, featuring tortilla chips, black beans, tomatoes, salsa, and queso cotija topped off with eggs and optional smoked meats. Then there's the boneless beef short ribs and hash, or the "3 Pigs Sandwich" laden with housemade bacon, ham, and pulled pork. For something sweet, the cinnamon puffs are puff pastries lined with butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon.

Meanwhile, Autre Monde Cafe & Spirits is bringing a taste of the tropics to Berwyn for their new Tiki Sangria Brunch. Taking place every Sunday through September 6, the tiki-inspired repast features $5 sangria and live music on the patio by local artist Ian Lieth. Other drinks on deck include the Rosemary Sour and the Harissa Bloody Mary, which go nicely with brunch fare like chicken and pancakes, olive oil-poached tuna and white bean salad, and the AM burger striated with cheddar, Dijonnaise, and housemade brioche.
