Brunch Bites: New Brunch Menus at City Tavern and Bellweather Meeting House & Eatery

In this week's batch of brunch bites, City Tavern cooks up new brunch fare and Bellweather Meeting House & Eatery drizzles Nutella syrup over our hearts, see brunch menu.

New chef means new brunch fare. City Tavern's recently appointed executive chef Amanda Barnes is amping up the Sunday brunch menu, and things are certainly hearty. Think bacon pancakes, shrimp hash, pork schnitzel, and foie and bacon sandwiches, aka heart attack'wiches. Bottomless mimosas and a Bloody Mary bar are available, along with other brunch cocktails such as milk punch, Tavern Spiked Juice made with whiskey, spiced rum, pineapple juice, and grapefruit, and Cider House Fools, a mix of Angry Orchard Apple Ginger Cider, spiced rum, pineapple juice, and lemon juice.

Nutella syrup! Over waffles! This is the current state of affairs at Bellweather Meeting House & Eatery, a Streeterville newcomer open for lunch, dinner, and brunch menu. Right out of the gate, they're going big with robust, belt-shattering flavors. Like giant cinnamon buns, biscuits slathered in gravy, and the aforementioned waffles with Nutella syrup. There's also quiche with Swiss chard, shallots, and Gruyere; chilaquiles with salsa roja, over-easy egg, and queso fresco; and more.
