Brunch Bites: Cafe des Architectes and Max's Wine Dive

In this week's batch of brunch bites, Cafe des Architectes celebrates a jazz tradition and Max's Wine Dive brings fried chicken and Champagne to Wicker Park.

Cafe des Architectes
(Cafe des Architectes)

Music is at the forefront of a special brunch taking place June 21 at Cafe des Architectes, wherein the restaurant celebrates the French summer festival of Fête de la Musique. The annual tradition in France serves to showcase music from all over the world, and Cafe des Architectes embraces the lively spirit with a special jazz brunch, featuring the stylings of the Isaiah Spencer Jazz Trio from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. While listening to music, guests will have the opportunity to partake in brunch favorites such as mixed berry crepes, a farmhouse Benedict striated with braised short ribs and tomato jam, and bacon-Gruyere quiche.

Fried chicken and Champagne are the focal point at Max's Wine Dive, a newcomer to Wicker Park's Milwaukee Avenue dining and drinking scene. Naturally, comfort food is at the forefront, including brunchtime, where dishes like braised pork belly Benedict with giardiniera hollandaise, cinnamon rolls with citrus glaze, and biscuits and gravy take the spotlight. Brunch is served Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
