With the coronavirus pandemic striking during spring, it’s also hit the most significant dining event of the year: Mother’s Day. Not to miss out on this very important business, many establishments have switched their strategies for the special occasion with fancy curbside, delivery and pick-up options. Here are some standouts certain to put a smile on every mom’s face when Mother’s Day goes down Sunday, May 10.

Acadia. How about a lobster boil for two?! South Loop super star Acadia is whipping up this luxury package for two for a May 9-10 curbside pickup. It includes two whole butter-poached Maine lobsters, red potatoes, asparagus, mussels and grilled andouille sausage. That’s $95, and you can add fresh flowers, a pint of lobster corn chowder or Boston cream pie for an additional fee. You must pre-order all these items.

Beatrix Streeterville. We love that many restaurants keep families in mind when creating these Mother’s Day deals. The Streeterville Beatrix outpost isn’t just throwing together a meal either. They’ve teamed up with local florist Flowers for Dreams to complement bouquets with brunch. The $110.95 package for four is a great deal that comes with brown sugar bacon, wild berry parfaits, baked apple French toast, scrambled eggs and more. There’s also a brunch option for two that’s $23.95 per person. Orders must be placed by May 9, and you must pick them up at the location.

City Winery. The live-music specialist has pivoted to offer a mom’s day feast to adore. Dishes like pistachio-crusted salmon, French toast casserole and roasted parmesan potatoes are only a few of the a la carte dishes to pre-order. Pick them up at the restaurant May 9-10. You can add a bonus for the wine-loving mama: City Winery’s just released Rosé of Syrah is available by the dozen, which she may appreciate more than roses.

Little Goat Bakery. Give Mom a taste of homemade goodness—and have your house smelling like an upscale bakery—when you buy Stephanie Izard’s signature, ready-to-bake goodies from her corner spot in the West Loop. Options include cinnamon rolls, cheddar scallion biscuits, scones, Little Goat sourdough pancake mix (sourdough pancake batter, malt butter, crumble topping, syrup) and Fat Elvis pancake kit (sourdough pancake batter, bacon maple syrup, peanut butter butter). Prices range $6 to $25.

Luella’s Southern Kitchen. Through May 7, you may pre-order Mother’s Day meals from this Lincoln Square gem—and directly from the restaurant. Packages are $23-$27 per person, four courses, and include modernized Southern dishes such as buttermilk fried soft shell crab, honey glazed jerk brisket, Creole shrimp with cheddar hot tamale, smoked chicken and dumplings, and peach panna cotta with caramel and streusel topping.

Saranello’s. Family-style brunch or dinner is on tap at Saranello’s, with packages for four people for $100, plus tax. Brunch items include citrus-cured Atlantic salmon, smoked Vermont turkey and roast sirloin prime beef, while dinner features the likes of parmesan & spinach-stuffed mushrooms, large Gulf shrimp, baked mac and cheese and pistachio-crusted whitefish. The online-only orders must be placed by noon Saturday, May 9 and picked up Sunday at the Wheeling restaurant.
