Wine, whiskey and affordable tasting menus are all on deck throughout the week at The Winchester, as the East Village restaurant rolls out a series of ongoing nightly promos. Providing perfect incentive to get out and linger on the patio this season, the bucolic neighborhood staple starts things off with “neighbor night” on Tuesdays, which provides 20% discounts to East Village locals. Next is wine night Wednesdays, with $20 select bottles of wine. This is followed by “win-whiskey night” on Thursdays, with rotating whiskey drink specials. The week all winds down with Sunday suppers, featuring $25 three-course prix fixe menus between 5:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m.
Piccolo Sogno’s 10th Anniversary Specials
It’s hard to believe Piccolo Sogno is already 10 years old. It feels like just yesterday the River West Italian restaurant blessed us all with its presence — and its primo patio. And its Italian wine list. And antipasti. You get the picture. This month marks the decade mark for the beloved restaurant, and to celebrate, Piccolo is offering a month-long food special and wine promos to sweeten the deal. Food-wise, tagliolini with summer truffles is being offered throughout July for just $10. Wash it down with $10 bottles of Prosecco.
Happy Hour at Pub Royale
Happy hours are especially happy when they involve nachos, rosé and 3 Floyds. Pub Royale meets all those requirements with its new happy hour offerings, which span food and drink throughout the week. On Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, patrons can enjoy $4 rotating 3 Floyds drafts between 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Then on Friday, the bar and restaurant really amps things up with $10 Hamms buckets, $20 rosé cider buckets, $5 select cocktails and $8 chicken tikka paratha nachos between 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.
South African Wine Dinner at Publican Quality Meats
It’s summer in Chicago, which means it’s an apt time to drink pretty much non-stop. Fortunately, there are no shortage of events that can make that possible. Like the South African wine dinner taking place at Publican Quality Meats on July 11. Starting at 7:30 p.m., the six-course affair celebrates the flavors of South Africa with wine-paired dishes like amagwinya filled with seasonal jam, bitong with artichokes, boerowors with grilled onion and hertzoggies jam tarts.
