The Most Sinful Steakhouse Desserts in Sin City

In a place like Sin City, extravagant desserts are practically mandatory. No steakhouse experience in Las Vegas is really complete until you’ve capped it off with an indulgent plate of cake, ice cream, chocolate and any combination therein. If you’re gonna do Las Vegas steakhouses right, here’s how to do it in sweet style.

The Palm

Cut: Las Vegas steakhouses are all about grandeur, pomp and circumstance, and no restaurant exemplifies that quite like Cut. This beefy icon has a knack for show-stopping presentation, and the desserts here are the perfect grand finale to an opulent meal. The chocolate brownie “Baked Alaska” is a prime example, featuring devil’s food cake enrobed in cocoa nib crunch, vanilla ice cream and meringue that’s set aflame. The banana cream pie is another essential staple, as the roasted banana ice cream on the creme brulee and chocolate sauce really takes the dish over the edge. For something a bit more fruit-forward but no less indulgent, the peach crumble features sake-poached pears, oat-walnut crumble and ginger ice cream.

STK: Between the funnel cakes, the cookies and the donuts, the dessert menu at STK reads like a hit list of quintessential nostalgic flavors. While the sweets here are rooted in classics, STK manages to upgrade them to a new level, enhancing familiar flavors with unexpected additions and lavish presentation. That funnel cake, for instance, goes beyond the state fair norm with huckleberry compote, pistachios and candied lemon sauce, while freshly fried donuts feature a treacly maple glaze and some candied pecans. The sticky toffee pudding is another highlight, bedecked with caramel tuile, toffee sauce and sweet cream ice cream.

The Palm: This seasoned steakhouse doesn’t do anything small. From the steaks to the Caesar salads, everything is over-the-top, a sentiment that certainly holds true on the dessert menu. Chocolate cake comes with seven layers of fudgy goodness and ganache. Ditto the mile-high carrot cake, layered with cream cheese and toasted pecans. There’s also cheesecake, donuts, key lime pie and flourless chocolate cake with creme anglaise, among others.

SW Steakhouse: Upscale comfort food is the bill of fare at SW Steakhouse, where all-American fixtures are given a serious upgrade with lavish ingredients and showy flair. Go out with a bang with desserts like the caramel walnut tart, which boasts dark rum-walnut frangipane, maple gastrique and banana-malt ice cream, or brown butter-baked apple crisp, or cookie butter cheesecake, which enhances the cream cheese with milk chocolate and Biscoff cookie butter ganache.

Echo & Rig: If elaborate ice cream sundaes are your dessert of choice, then be sure and make your way to Echo & Rig, where the entire dessert menu consists of colorful, contemporary sundaes. Like the berry shortcake sundae, made with berries, citrusy shortcake, hibiscus syrup, candied flowers, vanilla ice cream and whipped cream. Or the cappuccino version with sponge cake cubes, chocolate shavings, affogato fudge sauce and espresso ice cream. Especially appropriate this time of year is the apple pie sundae, which has cinnamon-caramel apples and mulled apple syrup over vanilla ice cream with crunchy morsels of caramelized pie crust.
