After a horrible experience during restaurant week, we stopped off for a drink at Copper Fox. Shaheen and Nahelly was amazing. Made our night worth the evening out.
Came the other night, from out of town, with some friends of mine. We didn’t expect much being a hotel restaurant but I’m glad we came. Truffle fries are awesome and the Moscow mules are sooo good. I couldn’t stop at just one. Highly recommend!!
So first and foremost I have stayed at a lot of Courtyard by Marriott locations and I haven't been disappointed until now. First and foremost, the front...
I got the biscuits and gravy. Described in the menu as, "#16 biscuits, chipotle sausage gravy, over easy eggs, cheddar potato cake." Made with base of potato cake, egg on the cake, biscuit on the egg, and smothered with the gravy. Egg cooked perfectly, biscuit soft and flaky, but the potato cake really seemed to only add texture, not flavor. The Chipotle seemed to overpower the cheddar. The service was lackluster at best. When I walked in, there were 3 tables occupied of about 16 tables. I noticed all the tables already had flatware and water glasses on them, except the one where I was seated. The woman who sat me and my server, both, did not pay attention to this fact. I ended up getting up from my table to get the flatware I did not have from another table, after water and coffee were brought out. Why was this not noticed then? It seemed as if paying attention to the tables was not a priority. To this point, after finishing my meal, the busser was the only one who offered to get me a second cup of coffee. The busser was more of a server than the server was. The atmosphere that one walks into says it is a more upscale yet adventurous dining experience. The food fits the atmosphere, the service does not.
The food was terrible. The restaurant is in the lobby of the Courtyard hotel. The Caesar Salad tasted more like a salad with ranch. The biscuits looked like they came from a can and were terribly dry. My wife's salmon was served over some tomato paste from a can and the potatoes that came with it were not cooked. It's a lobby bar that serves some bad food masquerading as a gastro pub. I was hoping for a restaurant that was owned by a person that really cared but this restaurant was just a corporate shill.
