Via Lima - Chicago

Via Lima visitors won’t need passports, but be sure to bring your appetite as you embark on a whirlwind culinary tour through the Peruvian inspired menu. The restaurant is the creation of owner Eni Cadena and is a tribute to her late mother, Teresa. It was in her mother’s kitchen, where traditional Peruvian cuisines were finessed for her family. Eni hopes to share the fruits of her mother’s loving labor through family recipes at Via Lima.

Guests can experience contemporized Peruvian mainstays such as ceviches, lomo saltado (stir-fried steak) and aji de gallina (chili pepper chicken). Via Lima’s bar offers a dozen cocktails made with pisco, a Peruvian brandy, in addition to a wide selection of wine and local beers.

The earthy decor of the 2,600-square foot restaurant include flourishes like globular light fixtures that look as if they were grown in the forest. The lush, inviting space offers an 80-capacity dining room with table, booth and bar seating, perfect for any special event. Original wall art and shades of Via Lima’s signature color purple, including a purple llama, prominently adorn the wall.

Eni is proud and excited to bring Peruvian cuisine to Chicago’s North Center community. The dishes have a rich history incorporating disparate cultural influences from the many migrants of Europe, Asia and Africa through -- or via -- Lima.
