It's hard to sum this up but Uncle Julio's has been pretty on and off for me. It's just not the same anymore. My family and I were regulars here but it's...
Walked in, waited to be seated, and observed Mexican authenticity. I had the Carne asada well done, steak was tender, not chewy, and presention was eye-catching. My wife had the chicken breast tender, not dry. My daughter had the kid meal beef taco. All in all, we had a pleasant time there.
Dined here for a birthday celebration recently. It’s overpriced, mediocre Mexican food. If you’re like me and live in an authentic Hispanic neighborhood, i.e. Pilsen, Hermosa, etc, you will find that there are plenty of great, authentically Mexican restaurant for better prices. I think they feel the crunch of the staffing storage. We went in today and there were many open tables but due to there only being so many wait staff we had to wait 20 min for a table. Once we got to the table we waited another 10min before anyone said anything to us. The food was delicious and perfect. I also love that it's right off the red line. Our waitress was very attentive and helpful. We love their fajitas and cocktails.
